Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held discussions with senior cabinet ministers and senior officials about the current situation and further preparations for the Corona virus epidemic. The PMO said that it was informed in the meeting chaired by the Prime Minister that two-thirds of the cases of Kovid-19 are in five states, out of which more cases have been reported in big cities.
During the meeting, the current situation in the capital Delhi was also discussed and the projections for the next two months were also discussed. During this time, PM Modi advised that the Union Home Minister and Health Minister will call an emergency meeting with LG and the Chief Minister of Delhi, in which senior officials of the Central Government and the Mayor of the three municipal corporations will also be present. In this meeting, a common plan should be prepared to deal with the current situation.
Discussion on the challenges of big cities
In view of the challenge of increasing cases in big cities, there was a discussion on increasing the number of beds with testing to better deal with the increase in daily cases. PM Modi took cognizance of the proposal made by the Empowered Group regarding the needs of district-wise beds / isolation beds and asked the Health Department officials to work with all states and union territories on the emergency plan.
